The creepy clown trend is sweeping the nation-- and Michigan in particular it seems.

At least 20 Michigan communities are reporting clown sightings; online threats from creepy clowns have schools on lockdown, weirdos in masks are robbing hotels, and Thursday there were more issues on the East Side.

WZZM-13 reports that two 18-year-olds in Roseville, Jaime Salinis and Elandra Sledge, have been arrested after dressing up as clowns and scaring two younger teens.

According to police, Sledge and Salinis donned elaborate scary clown gear, jumped out of a car, and chased two 14-year-olds.

The incident happened Thursday around 9p.m. on Minnesota Street.

The younger teens showed in up in hysterics at the police department, thinking they were going to be attacked.

According to a release from Roseville Police entitled "Two Morons Dressed as Clowns Terrorize Teens, are Arrested",  the women were wearing "what would be considered full clown regalia from head to foot and stated they thought it was funny to terrorize unsuspecting pedestrians."

Salinis and Sledge have been arraigned on disorderly conduct charges and are being held in the in the Macomb County Jail on $10,000 cash or surety bonds.
