Michigan is home to a long list of fantastic restaurants. Thankfully, it looks like this is a trend which is set to continue as our state produces more excellent chefs.

Two Michigan culinary schools have been ranked among the top 20 in the country.

College Rank has released a list of the nation's Top 20 Culinary Schools.

Henry Ford Community College in Dearborn and the Great Lakes Culinary Center in Southfield both made list.

Henry Ford Community College ranked ninth. College Rank said, "With classes teaching the essentials of wines of the world, restaurant management, hotel dessert services, and event planning students are able to gain greater insight into the various aspects of the culinary industry sometimes not covered in other programs."

The Great Lakes Culinary Center came in 11th. College Rank said, "Students gain practical hands-on experience in one of four labs while focusing on the science and techniques of cooking instead of simply recipe memorization."

The list considers graduation rates, class sizes, professional direction and hands-on experience available to students.
