Cat owners like to think that their cats pine for them and miss them when they are gone but according to a new study they probably don't.

Now for most of us this isn't a surprise. Cats are known to be independent and just don't care, but for those owners who believe different you may want to continue reading.

Researchers in the UK studied 20 cats and how they interacted with their owners and found that cats aren't as attached to us as dogs are because dogs look at their owners as their protectors and cats don't. Also the fact that cats are more independent is another factor into why they don't care as much when you leave them alone.

They did find out that cats meowed more after their owner left them alone, but sadly they think it is just because they are bored...
