A Commerce, Michigan woman says a wild turkey, that she has named Godzilla, has been lurking around outside her house and attacking her when she goes outside.

69-year-old Edna Geisler says the turkey comes into her yard every day around 7 a.m. and goes back into the woods around 7 p.m., the Detroit Free Press reported Monday.

"I'm afraid to go out of my house," Geisler said. "I have to go to the post office at 6 o'clock in the morning to avoid him."

Geisler said she is hoping the aggressive gobbler is gone by summer so she can work in her garden.

"Every time I eat turkey I smile," she said. "I'd like to do that to him."

According to wildlife experts, Godzilla is being so aggressive because he believes he is defending his territory. The DNR has suggested that she chase him off of her property with an umbrella until he stops coming back.
