A bridge demolition will bring total closures to I-96 and M-50 in Kent County this weekend.

M-50 (Alden Nash Avenue) will close over I-96 for bridge demolition at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, August 1 through 5:00 a.m. on Monday, August 4.

I-96 will be reduced to one lane from 9:00 p.m. on Friday through 5:00 a.m. on Monday. Traffic will exit and re-enter I-96 using the off and on ramps at M-50. Right turns will be allowed from I-96 to M-50.

A temporary bridge will be in place on M-50 over I-96 by Monday morning. The temporary bridge will be used through October.

DETOUR OPTIONS

  • M-50:  52nd Street, Segwun Avenue and Cascade Road.
  • Westbound I-96:  Follow posted detour to entrance ramp at 28th Street.
  • Eastbound I-96:  Follow posted detour to entrance ramp at Nash Highway.
