With wintertime in full effect there isn't much to do like there is in the warmer seasons. To be honest, most of us don't even want to do much of anything but be warm and lazy.

That's why it's no surprise that a new survey, by Yogabed.com, found that half of Americans spend an average of 3 extra hours in bed per week during the winter.

Unsurprisingly, December, January and February were voted to be, by far, the most indulgent months – making winter the most indulgent season."

The bedroom was considered to be the most indulgent room in the house, beating out the living room and the kitchen. With the majority of us spending most of our time in bed, you would think many couples would take this as the opportunity to get freaky in the sheets. Wrong. Most surveyed admit that they would rather snuggle up in bed and watch TV than have sex.

The survey found that these are the top 10 ways we indulge ourselves in the winter:

  1. Sitting by the fire
  2. Cuddling up to a drink of hot chocolate
  3. Lying around reading a book
  4. Staying home all day in your PJ's
  5. Sleeping in late
  6. Baking and then eating it all
  7. Staying in bed all day
  8. Ordering in
  9. Taking a hot bubble bath
  10. Watching TV

If you're looking for the best time to take advantage of these, the best time of day to indulge is between 5 and 9pm and Saturday was the best day to indulge. The survey also found that 50% of people NEVER feel guilty afterward, but 7% always feel guilty.

What's your favorite winter indulgence?
