The third shooting in less than a week on Grand Rapids' southeast side has taken the life of a 17-year-old.

WOOD-TV 8 reports the shooting happened early Wednesday morning around 12:10 a.m. near the intersection of Adams Street and Marshall Avenue SE.

The Grand Rapids Police Department tells WOOD-TV 8 the teen and three others were walking, the suspect approached them, fired and ran off. The teen was taken to the hospital where he died.

As of Wednesday afternoon, police do not have anyone in custody.

This is the third shooting in less than a week on this side of town. Saturday night a pregnant woman along with three others were shot near Lafayette SE and Highland Street, all injuries were non-life-threatening. Police were called again to the southeast part of town Sunday morning when a man was shot and killed at the intersection of Franklin Street and Eastern Avenue SE.

Police say the shootings appear to be unrelated
