In the wake of events like the one this morning in downtown Grand Rapids, people find themselves talking more and more openly about things like suicide. And, this time of year, for whatever reason, seems to be a time when this subject comes to life. If you, or someone you know is having suicidal thoughts or feelings, there are people out there to talk to, and that want to help.

First, and foremost, there is the National Suicide Prevention Hotline, which can be reached by calling 1–800–273-TALK (8255). And, even if you feel alone, your friends and family want to help, I promise they do.

Another organization out there that has a lot of resources for people dealing with depression, or going through a hard time are To Write Love On Her Arms. And, there is also an organization called Half Of Us, that is out there to help.

And of course, there are several agencies out there in West Michigan that want to help, including The Mental Health Foundation of West Michigan and Tri-Cities Ministries Counseling who Connie & Curtis spoke with this morning.

Last but not least, you can always talk to us. We may just be those wacky DJs on the radio station that you listen to, but truth be told, we sit in a room by ourselves all day and would love to listen to you. We can always be reached at 616-770-8957.

In the wake of this morning's events, let's all remember to give an extra smile.
