Tuesday night, I was lucky enough to be invited out to the Bissell Blocktail Party to hang out, learn more about the Bissell Pet Foundation, and spend a great night with dogs!

The annual event benefits local animal welfare organizations here in West Michigan each June.

The Bissell Pet Foundation is designed to address the growing problem of displaced, unwanted and homeless animals in the United States and to help every pet find a home. The Foundation recognizes the huge need of animal welfare organizations that struggle with limited resources but continue to work tirelessly on the front lines to save lives.

The Foundation was created in 2011 by Cathy Bissell, a lifelong pet lover and advocate.

This year's event raised a record breaking $500,000 to support the BISSELL Pet Foundation. Over 900 party goers and their four-legged friends enjoyed yummy yappeziters, posed for pictures and had caricatures drawn by famed ArtPrize winner Chris LaPorte.

Check out some of the photos I was able to snap at the event.
