Fireworks will illuminate the sky once again this year during 4th of July celebrations at Ah Nab Awen Park in downtown Grand Rapids, presented by Amway. The fireworks will be even bigger and better this year (which I didn't think was possible). Fireworks will be set off from both the Gillette Pedestrian Bridge and the Bridge Street Bridge.

In addition to the fireworks, a parade will kick off the celebration Wednesday, July 4 at 5 p.m. on the corner of Lyon and Monroe NW. The parade will continue down Monroe Center to Veterans’ Memorial Park, 101 East Fulton St., where men and women who have served in the U.S. military will be honored.

Live music and children’s activities will follow in Ah Nab Awen Park, 303 Pearl St. NW, at 6 p.m.

Fireworks will begin at 10:30 p.m. All activities are free and open to the public.
