The 95-7 “Throwback Of The Day” 2/15

"Just A Friend" is a "Throwback" by every meaning of the definition. Released back in 1989, this comedic rap song by Biz Markie only reached the 9 spot on the charts but was widely popular as the years passed, selling more copies on downloads then actual Cd's.

"Just A Friend" was a sample of the 1968 hit by Freddie Scott called "You got What I Need." I never said the guy can sing, but you have to admit, it is pretty catchy.  I understand why people still sing a bit of this song from time to time.
