A Texas man has been arrested for trying to commit sex crimes in northern Michigan, Fox 17 News reported.

The Isabella County Sheriff's Department has arrested the man after they say he drove to Michigan to meet with a 14-year-old girl.

Glen Timberlake, a 27-year-old from Austin, Texas, was arrested near Mount Pleasant after the girl's mother saw him pass their home.

Officials say Timberlake and the girl had been communicating online and texting for the past two years.

During that time, the sheriff says Timberlake sent the girl four sexually explicit videos, as well as many sexual messages. One of the videos included a dog.

When he was arrested, Timberlake was carrying a large knife. He told police that he was carrying it because he "wanted to get some answers".

He is being held in the Isabella County Jail on a $700,000 bond.

Timberlake faces a number of criminal charges, including accosting a child, using a computer for the crime, stalking and indecent exposure.
