Grand Rapids remembered September 11, 2001 today with a Scout Salute at Gerald R. Ford Museum.
The September 11 Scout Salute at Gerald R. Ford Museum has been an annual event since 2002. About 600 scouts were expected to participate during today's salute. The salute began at sunrise and went until 8:00pm when the day closed with a candlelight vigil.
As the 10-year anniversary of 9/11 approaches, there are many ways to remember those who were lost. This Sunday at 8:00am people will gather at the Amway Grand for the 9/11 Stair Climb to remember the 343 firefighters who were killed on 9/11/01.
