On May 8th voters rejected a $98.6 million millage proposal from Grand Rapids Community College. The vote was 57% "no".
The proposed millage would have upgraded technology and renovated buildings at GRCC. Now GRCC is requiring students to pay a $100 per semester "facilities fee". Is the new fee fair to students?
Tuesday brought numerous elections across West Michigan. Grand Rapids Community College's request for nearly $100 million was one of many proposed millages.
Schools also on Tuesday's ballot include: Allendale, Coopersville, Grand Haven, Grandville, Holland, Hudsonville, Lowell, Northview, Spring Lake, West Ottawa, and more.
