LaughFest is only a couple of months away.  Ticket packages were on sale, those purchase opportunities are now closed. The first chance at individual tickets arrives on Friday, January 11.

Joanne Roehm of Gilda's Club Grand Rapids stopped by the studio today to talk with Connie and Curtis about the first announcement of the LaughFest 2013 lineup.  Some of the stars that will be gracing the stage at LaughFest 2013 are: Joel McHale, Lewis Black, and Strawberry Shortcake for the kids.

Almost as exciting as this past Tuesday's election is this upcoming Tuesday's announcement of the LaughFest 2013 lineup.

LaughFest wrapped-up its second successful year on Sunday.  LaughFest filled seats while raising awareness and money for the support of individuals and families affected by cancer.

Tuesday night was Kid's Joke Night at LaughFest. Nearly 100 people packed a room at Grand Rapids Children's Museum for the free show.

LaughFest runs March 8 - March 18 and there is something for everyone. There are plenty of non-family-friendly comedians, but there are just as many events designed for kids. Singing, kids' jokes, dancing...it's all at LaughFest! ...

LaughFest had a volunteer kick-off event on Tuesday night. Saturday provides another opportunity for volunteers to learn about LaughFest and the responsibilities that come with volunteering.

Congratulations to Gilda's Club of Grand Rapids! LaughFest is up for a national comedy award. Which is pretty impressive considering that it's only heading into its second year. Our friends over at WZZM 13 reported that Laughspin magazine, an online publication, nominated LaughFest in the magazine's 2011 Readers' Choice award for favorite comedy festival.

It didn't take LaughFest long to gain national attention as a can't-miss festival. Laughspin.com (formerly Punchline Magazine) has announced it's nominees for their 2011 Readers' Choice Comedy Awards.  LaughFest is one of five nominees for "Favorite Comedy Festival". The other nominees include festivals from some major cities, putting Grand Rapids in big company.

LaughFest returns to Grand Rapids in March. Tickets go on sale this Friday. The festival, which raises money to provide cancer and grief support through Gilda's Club Grand Rapids, will run March 8-18, 2012.  Whoopi Goldberg, Martin Short, Sinbad, and Kevin Nealon are among those scheduled to perform.
