October 14, 2011 We had huge waves on Lake Michigan just a couple of weeks ago, including a 21-foot wave just west of Holland. The waves could get even bigger on the Great Lakes this weekend.

Friday's winds brought both big waves and crazy surfers to the beach on Lake Michigan. It brought even bigger waves to the middle of the lake, including one recorded at 21-feet.
Lake Michigan rocks, literally!
Yesterday, the Coast Guard was busy pulling swimmers out of the water due to a strong rip current and high waves that either carried people out too far or slammed them into the rocks along the harbor in Holland.

My sister and nephew have been in town to celebrate the first week of summer with me and we decided to go camping at P.J. Hoffmaster State Park in Muskegon.
We had such a blast and I personally want to thank the park rangers (Karen and up-and-coming ranger, Jake) for helping us put up our tent and for kindly advising us when to take shelter during a tornado watch
