The Big Bang Theory is certainly up there in its twilight years, but the TV world will not be bereft of “Bazinga!” for long. Prequel spinoff series Young Sheldon is officially coming to CBS, with none other than Jon Favreau attached to direct.
Whether or not The Big Bang Theory comes to an end after its next season, few would argue that the egghead comedy kept alive many a three-camera sitcom tradition, aided by memorable moments the likes of Sheldon’s “Soft Kitty” lullaby. The memorably kitty-ditty has been featured no less than seven times over nine seasons, but has now come under fire with a lawsuit over its inception.
In one of the strongest box office weekends of 2015 so far, both Home and Get Hard opened strong while Insurgent and Cinderella continued to perform well. This was the rare weekend that literally offered something for everyone, with R-rated comedies and animated family fare exceeding expectations.
