West Michigan Election Day Results – May 5, 2015

Today, Michigan voters decided if the state sales tax would be increased from six percent to seven percent.

Voters in Byron Township, Caledonia, East Grand Rapids, Forest Hills, Grand Haven, Hudsonville, Kentwood, West Ottawa and other communities also had issues on the ballot.

Sprinkles Donut Shop Bakes Up Yumminess for Dessert Wars [Audio]

Sprinkles Donut Shop just had its grand opening Jan. 31, but owner Gary VanderStelt is making extra time to take part in Dessert Wars.

The VanderStelt family-operated Hudsonville bakery and sweet shop brought in some yummy cupcakes, donuts and baked goods for Channel 95.7's "Connie and Curtis" to sample this morning. The visit came ahead of Dessert Wars, which is Thursday night at Amway Grand Plaza hotel's Ambassador Ballroom in downtown Grand Rapids.

Four West Michigan High School Football Coaches Inducted Into Hall Of Fame

Four West Michigan High School football coaches were among those inducted into the Michigan High School Football Coaches Association's Hall of Fame over the weekend.

All coaches that were inducted have at least 20 years of experience or 100 wins.  The four coaches from West Michigan far exceed those numbers.

Hudsonville “Pagans” Receive “Love Notes” From a Grinch

A neighborhood in Hudsonville is not unlike most others in the US this time of year. Full of houses decked out for the holidays with lights of many colors, blow-up snow men in the front yard, garland in the windows, and wreaths on the doors. But, it seems that one of their neighbors is unhappy with the holiday cheer.

This "Grinch" as some are calling him, has left notes on mailboxes throughout the neighborhood voicing his displeasure with the displays.

Hudsonville Christmas Light Rivalry

Christmas lights are everywhere and we've been telling you about some of the biggest displays.  There's the huge display at a Spring Lake home. There's also a massive drive-through display at Fifth Third Ballpark.

But a couple of displays in Georgetown Township near Hudsonville have taken a slightly different twist.

Two brothers, who live on the same cul-de-sac, have developed a friendly rivalry by trying to out-do each other with their Christmas lights.

ArtPrize Is Therapeutic For Hudsonville Teen

Entering its third year is, ArtPrize, the magnificent outlet for artists all over the world to exhibit his or her canvases of creativity. 

With each entry comes a story -- some expected, and some that not only tug at your heart strings, but also bring tears to your eyes.  Like the unraveling  journey of 13-year old Alyssia Crook.  Over the weekend, the Hudsonville teen painted a scene using her body to leave impressions of her left foot and leg that will soon be amputated.
