Man Sentenced In Connection To Rodrick Dantzler Murders

The man who sold Rodrick Dantlzer the gun that he used to kill seven people in one day in Grand Rapids in July of 2011 is heading to prison.

Michael James Allen was sentenced in federal court on Monday to 10 years in prison - the maximum amount of time he was facing - after having previously plead guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Dantzler Tapes and Letter Released By GRPD [VIDEO]

The Grand Rapids Police and Kent County Prosecutor released several hours of dashcam video, 911 audio recordings, and documents in the investigation of the mass shootings in Grand Rapids that left seven people dead in July. The information was released Tuesday morning.

Rodrick Dantzler killed seven people, then himself after a high-speed chase throughout the city and a hostage stand off.

Today, under the Freedom of Information Act, Police Chief Kevin Belk released the documentation to the public.

Grand Rapids Police Reveal Details, Identify Victims of Thursday’s Murders

The Grand Rapids Police held a press conference this morning to address yesterday's tragic events.

Police Chief Kevin Belk identified victims as Amanda Emkens, 27, who had a relationship with Dantzler, Marisa Emkens, 10, Amanda's daughter, and Kimberlee Emkens, Amanda's sister. These victims were found at 2046 Plainfield Avenue NE on Thursday afternoon.

Belk said, at Brynell Court, victims were Jennifer Heeren, 29, who had a relationship with Dantzler, her daughter with Dantzler,  Kamrie Dantzler, 12, and Jennifer's Heeren's parents, Thomas and Rebecca Heeren.

Seven Dead In Grand Rapids Shooting [LIVE FEED]

Final Update: Rodrick Dantzler took his own life after safely releasing all the hostages.

Update: Rodrick Dantzler is believed to have entered a home near Soft Water Lake near Plainfield Avenue, north of I-96. He allegedly kicked in the back door of the home and three shots were heard by authorities. Dantzler has entered negotiations with the police.

According to WZZM 13, Grand Rapids Police are on multiple crime scenes on Grand Rapids' northeast side.

Grand Rapids Police Chief Kevin Belk told WZZM's crew that a total of seven people are dead, including one child.  Four bodies were found in the 1200 block of Brynell NE.  All four were adults.  Three were women.

At a second location in the 2000 block of Plainfield NE, three bodies were found including one child.
