ArtPrize Seven Winners Announced
The winners of ArtPrize Seven were announced tonight at The Grand Rapids Civic Theatre.
Two $200,000 Grand Prizes were awarded.
The Public Vote winner was Loveless PhotoFiber's "Northwood Awaking." The Jury Award winner is Kate Gilmore's "Higher Ground."
Visitors Write Their Hero’s Name on ArtPrize Entry [Photos]
Pamela Alderman's "Hometown Hero" honors the memory of Army Spc. Eric T. Burri. Burri was 21 years old when he gave his life in 2005 while serving in Bagdad.
Visitors to the ArtPrize Seven entry are invited to interact by writing the name of their personal hero on the flag.
ArtPrize Entry Uses Sheets of Stainless Steel Wire Mesh [Video]
Seungmo Park's "MAYA 7624" is at Kendall College of Art and Design/Fed Galleries @ KCAD for ArtPrize Seven.
It is made out of sheets of stainless steel wire mesh.
The ArtPrize entry is best seen when the viewer moves around to see how it changes at different angles. This video helps to appreciate those changes.

Kate Gilmore's "Higher Ground" is nominated in the Time-Based category on the Jurors' Shortlist. The ArtPrize Seven entry also appeared in the Public Vote Top 25, but didn't make it to the final round.
