January 17, 2013 Grand Rapids is getting more national attention. This time, stemming from ArtPrize. Time listed Grand Rapids' ArtPrize as a top five festive event that people won't want to miss in 2013. But, somehow, Grand Rapids as a city didn't come across that well.

October 1, 2012 This past Friday I, along with thousands of others, took part in an interactive ArtPrize exhibit, unlike anything I've ever seen. "Lights In The Night", a piece put together by Mark Carpenter and Dan Johnson, featured thousands of paper sky lanterns being released from strategic points in downtown Grand Rapids. The result was incredible, so incredible in fact, that with less than 48 hours from the time the event took place until the voting ended, "Lights In The Night" was able to make it into the ArtPrize Top 10.
October 1, 2012 Robin Protz's ArtPrize entry "The Dragon" has been disqualified from ArtPrize.
The popular piece remains on display at the Amway Grand.
"The Dragon" had been in the Top 25, but was disqualified before the Top 10 was announced.
September 28, 2012 September 28 to September 30 will be the biggest and busiest weekend of ArtPrize.
There will be a rush of people trying to get one last look at entries before first round voting ends at 11:59pm on Saturday, September 29. Then we'll have a rush of people to see the Top 10 after it is announced on Sunday.
