A recent study was done among US households with children under 18. The results showed that in 40% of those families, the mother has the primary or sole source of income for the home.

This number has grown 4 times since 1960, when 11% of those polled had a female breadwinner. 37% of these ladies are married and make more than their spouses. 63% of these supermoms are single.

With all of this progress made in equality,  it’s hard to believe that 51% of people still say they feel it’s better for the kids if the mother stays at home. Stereotypically, only 8% felt that way about the father.
