Remember hearing about Shaggy? Shaggy is the Newfoundland dog that has been wandering around Cascade Township.

After 8 months, he has finally been caught.

Shaggy has been out in the elements since July 14, according to his fan page.

He's been able to escape numerous attempts of capture, and neighbors were concerned that his collar would eventually strangle him as he was growing.

WZZM-13 reports that one helpful neighbor, Kim Stubber, was able to gain Shaggy's trust as she fed him in her garage. On Thursday she was able to distract him with canned dog food and salmon while she slipped a leash around him.

Word is Shaggy is being treated at Devoted Barn rescue in Newport, Michigan. After six months they expect Shaggy will be able to be adopted.
