City Commissioner Rosalynn Bliss announced on her Facebook page Friday night that ice skating at Rosa Parks Circle has ended for the season.

The status update simply read,

Due to the weather, the ice skating rink at Rosa Parks Circle is closed for the season. Despite this winter's fluctuating temperatures, 34,000 skaters still enjoyed ice skating downtown.

The unseasonably warm weather conditions this winter have made it difficult for the city to maintain the rink the way that they have been able to in the past.

Higher than normal temperatures are also expected for next week, and I'm sure helped the city reach this decision.
