Starting on June 1st, one of the first major sections of the Restore the Rapids transition begins along the riverfront. The North Monroe Parking Lot will be shutting down forever on Thursday, June 1st to begin its transformation into a green space.  If you are currently parking in this lot, Grand Rapids Parking Services will have some new options on places for you to park.

The Restore the Rapids project was first announced in 2012 by the grassroots organization Grand Rapids WhiteWater.  The project currently has no announced completion date.
