President Obama Addresses the Kalamazoo Shooting Spree [Video]

On Monday, while speaking to an annual meeting of U.S. governors, President Barack Obama spoke about the Kalamazoo shooting spree that took place Saturday night, and pledged federal support to Kalamazoo.

The president spoke of the shooting, saying that Kalamazoo was "terrorized by gun violence". He said he had recently spoke to the mayor of Kalamazoo, as well as the police chief and the sheriff.

Obama also praised local law enforcement, saying that they did "an outstanding job in apprehending the individual very quickly".

After saying he would like to make it harder for dangerous people to get their hands on firearms, the president said, "I’ve got to assume that all of you are just as tired as I am of seeing this stuff happen in your states."
