Tina Fey recently stopped by the Graham Norton Show, and during part of her interview, she revealed that she was once an awkward, nerdy pre-teen, just like the rest of us.

Fey specifically recounts her first encounter with bra shopping. Her mother took her to J.C. Penney and made Fey try on a bra over her clothes--which naturally mortified the then-ten-year-old girl. Most of us can relate a little too well (like the time my mom took me bra shopping at Kohl's, and we ran into a BOY from my class WITH HIS MOM).

Tina also describes a catastrophic haircut, constructed “by folding my face in half and cutting out a heart.”

The full interview is in the video below, and it proves my theory that even the most awkward kids can turn into the most amazing adults.
