Police Searching For Muskegon ‘Sweetheart Swindler’

Police are looking for a man who they say starts dating women before conning them out of their money.

Jeffrey Lucas, 34, faces multiple charges related to allegations of larceny under false pretenses. He was charged as a habitual offender in Muskegon County, and released on bond. Lucas has now failed to appear for court and is considered a fugitive.

At least eight other women have come forward to report that Mr. Lucas met them online, started a dating relationship in person, and then scammed each of the women out of money based upon a variety of lies.

One woman claims that Lucas borrowed $54,000 from her and then refused to pay it back.

Lucas has an extensive criminal history that includes multiple convictions for fraud.

Police believe that Lucas has left the state of Michigan.
