An overnight fire on the Northwest part of Grand Rapids destroyed a house and sent two firefighters to the hospital.

It happened early Tuesday morning at a house on Lexington Ave NW. According to Fox 17, firefighters witnessed smoke and flames coming from the top of the house, it quickly made its way to the ground floor.

Crews eventually got the fire under control in about four hours, and two firefighters were injured. One suffered a leg injury and the other was hit by falling debris and knocked unconscious.

Both firefighters are expected to be okay.
