Dropping your kids off to college can be frightening on its own. However, this year at Old Dominion University, parents may have had it even more frightening than other parents. Three big signs hanging at a residence off-campus are the reason for this and they have caused some controversy.

The three big signs read, “Rowdy And Fun Hope Your Baby Girl Is Ready For A Good Time…” “Freshman Daughter Drop Off,” with an arrow pointing to the front door, and “Go Ahead And Drop Off Mom Too…”

Although the students responsible for the signs took them down as soon as school officials asked them to, pictures of the signs made their way onto social media sites and caused quite the controversy. Old Dominion representatives posted two videos to social media and told the Huffington Post, "Messages like the ones displayed yesterday by a few students on the balcony of their private residence are not and will not be tolerated. The moment University staff became aware of these banners, they worked to have them removed. At ODU, we foster a community of respect and dignity and these messages sickened us. They are not representative of our 3,000 faculty and staff, 25,000 students and our 130,000 alumni."

You can check out the two videos Old Dominion posted in response to the banners below. Do you think the banners were worthy of the controversy that they caused?
