Ann Arbor has the perfect solution for those hard to clean snow covered sidewalks and it's called SnowBuddy.

Paul Tinkerhess came up with the idea because he was sick of snow covered sidewalks in his neighborhood.

Soon after this year's first snow, he got a team of volunteers together, purchased a snow tractor. They are now in the process of training them to clear 12 miles of sidewalks in Ann Arbor's Water Hill neighborhood and its connections to downtown when it snows.

So far, about 200 people have contributed more than $20,000, with donations ranging from $5 to $1,000, according to The Ann Arbor News/MLive and SnowBuddy.

The tractor and its attachments, including a 54-inch-wide brush, cost the group about $43,000.

It runs on gasoline and propane. On the back is a spreader for sand and eco-friendly/pet-friendly ice melt (not salt).
