Now, PETA (People For The Ethical Treatment of Animals) is not known for being tame in their ads. In fact, most of them feature women in various states of undress that aim to (somehow) bring attention to animal rights. But, some people are saying that they've taken things too far in their most recent commercial.

The ad is a "Valentine's video", that warns women of the dangers of their boyfriend's trip into veganism. The video was released online on Monday, and features a pantsless woman walking the street wearing a neck brace and carrying a bag of vegetables. (You can check out the ad after the jump, but note that it's probably not suitable for young viewers).

The commercial starts out, "This is Jessica. She suffers from 'BWVAKTBOOM', 'Boyfriend Went Vegan and Knocked The Bottom Out Of Me,' a painful condition that occurs when boyfriends go vegan and can suddenly bring it like a tantric porn star."

It then cuts to a scene of her walking in to her apartment and her boyfriend patching a hole in the wall by their bed.

PETA also launched a website to accompany the video on Monday, which includes tips for playing it safe when in bed with your vegan man.

The top comment on the YouTube page for the video reads,

Since when is it okay to promote the ethical treatment of animals by tarnishing the ethical treatment of women?

But, a PETA spokesperson told Yahoo! News,

The piece is tongue-in-cheek. People who watch the ad all the way through see the woman has a mischievous smile. She's happy to go back with him. It's playful.

Last week, PETA staged a stunt in Louisiana that featured a live couple making out on a bed in the middle of downtown. They said that it was to promote the vegan lifestyle. The display also included a sign that read "Vegans Make Better Lovers".
