A fairly innocent doll just got a high tech makeover that's freaking people out!

The new Hello Barbie, that's due to hit stores before Christmas 2015, isn't sitting right with critics and it has everything to do with its new technology. Hello Barbie uses Wi-Fi and speech recognition technology and actually learns your children's likes and dislikes.

The way it works is a child will press a button on Barbie's belt buckle, Barbie will record the child talking and the audio is sent up to the cloud. The more kids do this, the more Hello Barbie learns, in turn customizing responses.

CNN Money reports on a demonstration from a spokeswoman:

At the recent toy fair in New York City a spokeswoman asked Barbie "What should I be when I grow up?"

The response related to an earlier part of their conversation: "Well, you told me you like being on stage, so maybe a dancer?" -CNN Money

Creepy!!

CNN reports there are safeguards in place and Hello Barbie conforms to government standards.

Still creepy!
