Construction is scheduled this weekend for a new fitness center circuit at Martin Luther King Jr. Park in Grand Rapids.

Community volunteers will build 12 individual workout stations, complete with instructions on how to do each exercise, including push-up bars, balance beams, sit-ups, chin-ups and more. A similar center is being planned for Roosevelt Park later this summer.

Funding for the project was provided through a grant from Blue Cross Blue Shield Of Michigan.  Friends Of Grand Rapids Parks and the City Recreation Department will do the construction work.

Is this enough to get you motivated and moving? Anybody going to give up their gym membership?
