Neon Trees frontman Tyler Glenn has come out as gay, he reveals in Rolling Stone.

Though some have asked about Glenn's sexual orientation in the past, he has always denied that he was gay -- until now. And today, he is out and proud.

"I had my crushes on guys throughout high school, but it was never an overwhelming thing until my 20s," Glenn, who was born and raised Mormon, tells Rolling Stone. "Then I'd be dating girls and in love with my straight friend and it was the worst feeling in the world."

The magazine reports that Glenn started telling his family, friends and fellow band members the truth in October 2013, around the time he started penning tracks for the band's latest album, 'Pop Psychology.'

In fact, much of the album is about Glenn's struggle to come out and face his fears -- an idea which he alluded to during a recent interview with PopCrush.

"Not to get dark, but I was working, really, on just kind of getting happy," Glenn told PopCrush about the record.  "…I found a lot of happiness through facing some of my demons and really writing about it this time. And instead of writing a really depressing, dark record, it's a really happy, colorful outlook on life."

Congratulations to Tyler Glenn. It takes a lot of courage, confidence and self-assurance to face your fears, and we couldn't be any happier for him.
