American history is one of my favorite topics because I'm so proud and thankful to be a U.S. citizen.  Our nation is truly blessed in so many ways, but it has and continues to come at a high cost.

Protecting our freedom is not cheap, however, it is cheap when someone goes out of his or her way to sabotage a pledge every person, who claims citizenship, has recited since President Eisenhower was in office.

You see, the words 'under God' were added to the Pledge of Allegiance by Congress in 1954 and today it reads:

"I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."

At the U.S. Open Golf Championship last month ... NBC aired a Pledge of Allegiance video montage that cut the words "under God, indivisible" not once, but twice!

I'm not sure how NBC has chosen to handle this blatant attack of our American pledge.  Perhaps the video editor or editors intended to send the message that our country is divisible when it is not under God? If so, then I agree wholeheartedly.
