Some changes are coming to downtown Grand Rapids.

The Hawkins building at the corner of Fulton and Ionia, which had housed My Bar & Grill, and the Gunn Company Building next door at 7 Ionia were both purchased by 616 Development on Tuesday.

My Bar & Grill has closed following a lease buyout.

Mlive.com gives us details on the plans for the buildings:

The 616 Lofts on Ionia project will include 26 market-rate apartments on the upper three floors, offices on the second floors and a ground floor space that Coppess said is being eyed by an experienced local restaurant operator as an anchor tenant.

The apartment project adds 21 single-bedroom and five two-bedroom market-rate apartments to the downtown market that should be available by fall, said Coppess.

Rents will range from $950 to $1,100 a month for a 600 to 800 square-foot single bedroom apartment; or $1,450 to $1,650 a month for a 700 to 950 square-foot apartment.

These changes come just two weeks after Buffalo Wild Wings opened across the street.

Who do you think the "local restaurant operator/anchor tenant" could be?
