Mother of Sandy Hook School Shootings Victim Writes Powerful Letter to Teachers
The mother of one of the 26 victims of last December's Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre in Newtown, Conn., has written a powerful letter to the teachers of America.
Nebla Marquez-Greene had two children attending Sandy Hook Elementary on that day: Dec. 13, 2012. Her daughter, 6-year-old Ana Grace, was killed, but her son was uninjured. Twenty children and six adults died in the shootings by a 20-year-old man who also killed his mother in their Newtown home.
Her letter, shared with Education Week is powerful, gut-wrenching and encouraging all in one. Read it after the jump.
... I wanted to share my story in honor of the teachers everywhere who care for our children.
I lost my 6-year-old daughter Ana Grace on Dec. 14, 2012, in the rampage at Sandy Hook Elementary School. My son, who was in the building and heard the shooting, survived.
