Mom Abandons Kids, Gets Naked, Eats Ice Cream After Car Crash

Well, that's a headline I never thought I would have to write. But, it's true. A mother in Texas got into an accident with a city bus, then abandoned her kids, got naked, and ate ice cream. Obviously, she's a good candidate for mother of the year.

The 34-year-old Houston mother of three, Stephanie Dillard has been arrested for child endangerment.

Houston police told KPRC that Dillard's children, agest 5, 12, and 16 were in the car with her when her with it collided with a city bus last Friday. All of the kids were shaken up and suffered some minor injuries. The 5-year-old had to be treated for a large gash over one eye.

It's not so much the wreck that is news-worthy, however. It's what she did after. Apparently, directly following the accident, Dillard got out of her car and walked away, leaving her children in the car. She then went to a nearby drugstore, and began stripping off her clothes while she ate ice cream.

Police were, understandably, called to the scene. When they attempted to arrest Dillard, she put up a fight.

The children have been turned over to the custody of their grandmother.

Police say that they haven't figured out what caused Dillard's strange behavior.
