Bullying is being cited as the reason for a Muskegon County teenager's suicide.

Heidi Horn's family confirmed her death Tuesday night, stating that she couldn't take being bullied any longer.

Late Tuesday afternoon the Michigan State Police issued an alert asking for help finding the 15-year-old girl. They scheduled a news conference for just after 6 p.m., pushed it back an hour, and then gave vague information about the girl being found.

WZZM-13 spoke to Heidi's family, who confirmed that she had taken her own life. Her step-sister said, "Heidi was a very, very sweet girl but she didn't dress like other kids at school or listen to the same music. Growing up, life wasn't easy. She was a tough girl, but after so long couldn't handle it. She was loved by many, especially her family."
