The annual "Kids Count" survey shows that the number of Michigan children living in poverty is rising.

The company that does the survey says that Michigan needs both local and federal help if this problem is ever going to be solved.

Most states were found to have risen a tad in the poverty level.

One thing the survey said that was positive for Michigan is that children have great access to both private and public health care. Whether it be through a parent's work place or a state or federal run health program.

The response to the survey is that Michigan needs help on most levels. Education, tax credit, increase in the minimum wage were just some of the things suggested.
