Meijer Offers $10 Coupon Following Credit Card Outage

Meijer is offering a discount this weekend to make it up to all of its customers who were not able to shop at its stores late last month because its credit card system failed on two consecutive days.

All of Meijer's 213 stores had 30-minute system outages on Feb. 27 and 28, leaving shoppers unable to pay for their purchases if they were only carrying a credit or debit card.

The Walker-based company posted a coupon on its Facebook page Wednesday that is worth $10 off a purchase of $50 or more this Friday and Saturday (March 20 and 21):

In the post, Meijer said:

You deserve better. We're committed to offering our customers a great experience, and that didn't happen during a network outage in late February. Please accept our apologies and this coupon."
