Meet The Ice In The Ice Contestants – Tyler Polasek

We've been talking about the Ice In The Ice winners, and thought maybe you'd like to know a little more about them. So, we're sharing their stories! These are the people that will be competing in Ice In The Ice this Thursday at Siegel Jewelers! Each couple will receive a block of ice, and the first couple to melt the ice to get to the "ice" (diamond) in the middle will win a half carat diamond from our friends at Siegel Jewelers! The next contestant we want to introduce you to is Tyler Polasek. Here's Tyler's story of how he got together with his girlfriend Katie, in his own words:

Katie and I met a little over 2 years ago through mutual friends. From the start, our love was on fire. It was an instant connection. After Katie moved to Ann Arbor in Fall 2010 to attend the University of Michigan, we were found we were pregnant. I instantly moved to Ann Arbor to support her and our daughter Brooklyn, who was born in July 2011. In August 2012, Katie made her dream come true when she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Michigan, a dream that she has had since the 3rd Grade. After, we moved back to our hometown of Grand Rapids. Katie started working 3 days after our move to support us while I attended school. Then, Katie got surprisingly laid off in mid-September. Since then, things have been difficult for us. We are barely making ends meat to support our tiny family, but we are still happy and thankful. I also work part-time and so does Katie, but it is hard to be able to afford the present she really deserves for her birthday, December 15. I would love to be able show her that her hard work and dreams do come true. I want to show her how grateful I am that she is in my life and the mother of my beautiful daughter. Please, help me give her the birthday she deserves!
