Meet Rocky – Christine’s Pet of the Week!

Rocky the dog came into the Humane Society of West Michigan as a stray, about a month ago, and since no one has claimed him he is ready to find his forever home!

Rocky is a 2-year-old Dachshund-Mix and has the cutest face and shortest body. He's bigger for a dachshund but still small and easy to take around. He will do well in any type of family, including children. So far, Rocky has gotten along with other dogs, especially female ones. However, it's always encouraged that if you have another dog in the house to bring them into the Humane Society and have them do a "dog meeting." That way you know how they get along before you adopt Rocky and take him home. Otherwise, Rocky has a great personality and will fit right in.

TONIGHT (10/12) from 5p-7p all Potbelly Sandwich Shops (I suggest the chicken salad sandwich with extra hot peppers) in the Grand Rapids area will donate 100% of their proceeds to the Humane Society of West Michigan. The three locations in the metro area include:

Now through Saturday, 10/15, all adult Pitbulls (5 months+) are only $50! The Humane Society has a lot of Pitbulls right now and are having a "Pretty Pittys" special. Normally, adult dogs are $175 so that's a huge discount! Pitbulls can have a stigma but don't let that stray you from adopting one because they are one of the sweetest breeds. Every pitbull that has been featured on "Pet of the Week" has been lovable and happy. Also, it's about how you train and treat the dog.
