Every Wednesday, the Humane Society of West Michigan stops by and visits with a new, furry friend to be named Wendy's Pet of the Week.

Today, Heather from the Humane Society brought Phoebe into the studio.

Phoebe 10-month- old Stafforshire Terrier mix, and came in as a transfer from the animal shelter in Allegan County. She came to that shelter as a stray, but is very well socialized. Phoebe loves playing with other dogs, and with people. She has a ton of energy, but is very gentle and calm, especially for a puppy. Is Phoebe the right addition to your home?

You can get all the information on Phoebe by visiting the Humane Society's website or by calling (616) 453-8900.

Heather also mentioned the vaccination clinics they hold at the Humane Society. The “Vaccination Station,” which is a partnership between Humane Society of West Michigan and C-SNIP, is a way to offer affordable vaccination options to low income pet owners.

To qualify for the clinics clients must be able to show proof of low-income status up to 200% of the federal poverty level. Examples of proof of status are bridge cards, medicaid cards, paystubs, tax returns, unemployment check stubs, and proof of social security.

The clinics are held at the Humane Society the second Monday of every month from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. (walk-in only), and at C-SNIP the third Friday of every month from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. (walk-in only).
