Nickel [Chrstine George/Townsquare Media][/caption]This week, the Humane Society of West Michigan brought in a puppy! His name is Nickel and he is a 9 week-old Redtick Coonhound Mix.

According to Dogster.com, Redticks are a great family dog. They are very friendly and playful (including with children). Nickel exuded that same energy when he came into visit. He made sure to show everyone in the building lots of love! Also, with the right amount of training the Redtick can grow up to be very sociable and well-behaved.

Nickel [Christine George/Townsquare Media][/caption]Because Nickel is only a puppy you can sign him up for Puppy Preschool through the Humane Society. It's a class that will teach your puppy basic skills, commands and tricks. This is a great way to prevent behavior issues as your new dog grows. In addition, to Puppy Preschool, the Humane Society of West Michigan also offers a number of other classes including classes for adult dogs and shy dogs. For more information about the types of classes offered and the schedule click here. You can also call the Humane Society at 616.453.8900.

BONUS: Nickel was one of 5 in a litter. He has 4 sisters who are just as cute as he is :)
