Every week, the Humane Society of West Michigan brings in a new four-legged friend for me. This week Trudy brought Fiona in.

Fiona is super sweet, very friendly, and is looking for a good home. She's a Pit Bull mix, two-years-old, and has a bit of a hip issue, but that can be fixed with regular exercise. She would make a wonderful addition to home with children, elementary age and up.  Of course, you can learn more about Fiona and all of the adoptable pets at the Humane Society by logging on to their web site or by calling them at 616-453-8900.

Don’t forget they have their “12 Hour Spring Carnival of Savings,” this Saturday, April 27th.  From 10:30 a.m. until 10:30 p.m., the Humane Society will be having all sorts of fun.  Of course, there will be adoption specials for all of the animals, but also carnival games for the kids, entertainment, food, and more.

Then, at 7 p.m., for only $20, you can attend a book discussion and meet and great, with New York Times best selling author Captain Luis Carlos Montalvan and his dog Tuesday. Captain Montalvan developed PTSD after serving overseas in the military, and Tuesday, his service dog, has literally saved his life.
