It's a kitten craze at the Humane Society of West Michigan and this week Emery, a 2-month-old orange tabby kitten is the 'Pet of the week.'

Emery is up-to-date on her vaccines, spayed and micro-chipped which means she's ready to go to her forever home.

She also has siblings who are also up for adoption. Kittens do best with a playmate so if you want to open up your heart to one more you can get another kitten for free! At the Humane Society, kittens are $95 but when you buy one kitten you have the option of getting another one, fee waived.

You can also meet some kittens this Friday at the Humane Society of West Michigan's "Kitten Cabana Adoption Event." The shelter will be hosting the event at the JW Marriott, on their JDeck. Between 5-10p a portion of food sales will be donated to HSWM but on-site adoptions will be going on from 5:30p - 7p so you can spend your Friday night enjoying delicious food, good drinks and end the night cuddling with your new kitten!

Speciality cat-themed cocktails will also be served. Other than the adoption fees or purchasing food/drink, the adoption event is at no cost to attend.

However, if you love animals but for some reason can't adopt, consider becoming a foster pet parent! Since the Humane Society of W. MI is at capacity during the summer season, fostering kittens is a big help. If interested, you can find more information here.
