Every Wednesday, the Humane Society of West Michigan brings in a new animal to be dubbed "Wendy's Pet Of The Week". This week, Nicole Cook from the Humane Society brought in her friend Copper.

Copper is a 9-year old Mountain Cur mix with lots of love and energy for the right family.  Since Copper is technically a senior dog, he is in the Silver Paws Club, which means he if absolutely free to the right owner.  He sure is a loving dog, and loves to curl up close to you or on your lap.

Nicole also chatted with me about Bark in the Dark, the Humane Society's first ever 5K run/walk that's coming up on Saturday, October 12th.  It’s glow-in-the-dark run or walk fundraiser for the Humane Society of West Michigan. As you know, the Humane Society is supported solely by our donations and they need our continuing help keeping their doors open, so to speak.

The cost for Bark In The Dark is only $30, which is the amount it costs the Humane Society to take care of one animal for one day. You are also encouraged to collect donations for your run/walk to help raise some extra funds for the Humane Society.
