Matthew McConaughey Admits To Using Kidd Kraddick As His Alias

While promoting his upcoming movie The Lincoln Lawyer, Matthew McConaughey found himself in the confessional. After years of rumors, he finally admitted that he used to pretend to be radio impresario Kidd Kraddick to gain access to Texas hotspots.

The saga unraveled when Kidd Kraddick’s co-host Hyla was interviewing McConaughey for their syndicated weekend show, The Hollywood 5.

Hyla: I know you grew up in Texas. One of the shows I work with, Kidd Kraddick in the Morning…
Matthew (interrupts): Kidd Kraddick, yeah, that was one of my nicknames for a while.
Hyla: It's funny that you say that, cuz they asked me to ask you about that, if you ever used his name in any situations [for] personal gain.
Matthew (directing his next comment to Kidd): Sure. I used your name when I was in trouble a few times, too, Kidd. So there's some people out there looking for you.

Matthew goes on to say that he used to do this in the late 80s/early 90s and stated that “It's a little harder for Kidd to say "Yeah, I'm Matthew McConaughey."
